Personal Reflections from the Book of Hebrews

by
Maureen Menard

Consider this. You are one of Gods highest creatures, in fact you were created to be one of Gods intimate companions. He made you with an ability to relate personally to Him and He designed you with personality and gifts that, when purified, uniquely reflect aspects of His glory.

Consider what was in His Heart when he created you, the anticipation, the dreams, the longings in his heart only you can fill.

Yet reality is, although you have a personal relationship with God now, you are not as intimate with Him as you ultimately will be. And although you are living and relating in ways that express His Glory now, sin and flesh still, on occasion, affect the expression of your personality and gifts.

However, You are on a Journey. Your destination, in fact your destiny, is to enter into the fullness of His presence and along the way you will experience more and more freedom to express yourself with purity of motives, consistent with your unique personality and design.

This Journey is none other than the process of Salvation. And Salvation is the on going work of the Holy Spirit in you (GRACE) combined with your response of faith.

All of life (every relationship, responsibility and circumstance) is relevant to your journey of Salvation. Your future is simply a sequence of opportunities for you to relate more intimately with HIM and to increasingly live in ways that uniquely express His Character and His Purposes.

This journey of Salvation is not always easy.  Powerful, intelligent forces are at work to distract you and if possible derail you from the path. And even though Gods indwelling Spirit is instructing, motivating and inspiring you, you sometimes listen to other voices. However, Jesus, your PIONEER, has gone on ahead of you to clear the way for you to the Father.

Consider this.  Jesus, while remaining God, became one of us. He walked the road you are walking now. He faced the same kinds of temptations that seek to ensnare you now. He fought and defeated your enemy, the devil, He paid the price for all your sin. (So you can approach him now with your failures certain he will forgive). And when Jesus arrived in the presence of the Majesty on high he sat down and is there even now with one purpose in mind: to do his part to enable you to finish the race marked out for you. And if that is not enough He has sent His Holy Spirit to dwell within you to remind you of these truths and more.

This is your certain hope, the anchor for your soul. Consider this. Declare it.  You will one day experience the fullness of the Fathers Presence. You will worship with purity of heart and live completely for His Glory.  This is certain because God, who can not lie, has promised this.

In the meantime you are on the journey, walking the path toward this Ultimate destination. You experience, now, only the first fruits of what is yet to come. Your Creator- Father God sees you is with you through his Holy Spirit and is speaking to you to look toward your future in light of who Jesus is and what he has done and is doing for you.

So Today consider Jesus and make an honest assessment of where we are in this journey. Through the help of the Holy Spirit aim

To identify one area in our life that is in need of development or change
To  gain Gods perspective for what that area could become
To  identify practical steps to move us forward in that area
To choose to take those steps

Today is a Day to hear His Voice with faith and act accordingly
